Who We Are Looking For
This internship will reside in the accounting department where the applicant will be expected to fulfill a wide range of important duties and responsibilities. The applicant can expect to be immersed in a fast paced atmosphere filled with a diversity of accounting knowledge and skills in the real estate, construction, and property management fields.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Record journal entries for real estate transactions including: purchases, sales, and financing
- Assist in preparing reporting for internal users, financial institutions, and investors
- Assist in the preparation and processing of tax documentation for external vendors, investors, and clients
- Assist in month-end financial reporting up to and including: auditing, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank statement reconciliation
- Maintain and update accounting databases and related software
Requirements
- Must be available 20 hours per week during regular business hours M-F with reliable transportation
- Applicants should be senior level Business students with a major in Accounting
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel – prior experience in working with accounting software systems is desirable
- Ability to exhibit a high level of attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work well in a team oriented environment and analyze decisions with a broad perspective
- Results oriented leader with high level of self-motivation
- Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics
TIME COMMITMENT: 20 hours per week
Compensation Structure
- $18/hr
