If you had told me six years ago that I’d be sitting in a studio celebrating 500 episodes of a live show, I probably would have tried to run the other way.

But hitting this milestone has left me feeling one major emotion: pure gratitude. We didn’t get here by accident, and we certainly didn’t do it alone.

Last week, we celebrated the 500th episode of the Not Your Average Investor Show. This milestone belongs to every single person who has tuned in, shared their story, and helped us build something far bigger than a real estate broadcast.

The 500-Episode Journey

It all started with a casual drink at Coop303, where Pablo and I first mapped out this idea. I knew that when people spent time with us, they would understand why investing with JWB was a great idea. But I didn’t know how to scale that connection.

Pablo convinced me I didn’t need to be a thought leader on camera alone.  He said that we could bring our clients, partners, and city leaders into a live internet show to build a community that would help investors feel safe in an often misunderstood asset class– rental properties.

Like all communities, rituals emerged:

  • The Roll Call Tradition: What started as a simple way to say hello became a full-blown community tradition, giving regulars unique nicknames that cemented real friendships.
  • Masterclasses from Mentors: We’ve been incredibly fortunate to host brilliant city leaders and national educators who gave us an early look at where the economy and housing macro-trends were heading.
  • Raw Investor Stories: The real heart of the show has always been our guest investors who stepped up to openly share their personal financial lives, including the early mistakes they made before finding a smoother path.
  • A New Place to Call Home: This year, we got to celebrate moving our JWB headquarters into our beautiful new building at 200 North Laura Street, right in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville.

But as we looked back at all those hours on tape, it hit me that the real value of those 500 episodes was never just about mapping out a journey or logging data points. It was about something much deeper.

Finding Calm and Clarity in the Noise

This show was never just about giving people more information.

Information is everywhere, and anyone can pull up endless headlines, scary predictions, and loud opinions about the future. But raw data alone doesn’t build true confidence.

What investors really need is real confidence, the kind that comes from understanding the numbers and seeing the same core principles hold up through hard times.

During COVID, this community gave me a reason to show up when none of us had all the answers, giving us a place to slow down and look at what was actually happening.

👉 The Hidden Value of Investing With a Community Behind You

And through all of it, the community made those lessons real.

It’s one thing for me to talk about long-term rental property investing on a spreadsheet, but it’s another thing entirely to hear from investors who have lived it, real people who were nervous before getting started, built predictable cash flow, and successfully protected their retirement.

Investing is personal, and it takes a village to build the belief that you can actually do it. And when you realize that investing is deeply personal, it completely changes how you look at the people you surround yourself with.

It makes you realize that you should never try to build your financial future in isolation.

The Power of Your Pack

Pablo loves to remind me…

“An intelligent person learns from their mistakes, but a truly brilliant person learns from the mistakes of others.”

👉 The Smartest Way To Learn Real Estate Investing

I’ll never forget the business planning session where my partners and I sat down and watched the live show together for the first time. Seeing everyone in the chat celebrate each other’s housing milestones, share real-time advice, and virtually put their arms around one another completely blew us away.

It made us realize this isn’t a marketing stream; it’s a living ecosystem.

Surrounding yourself with a generous, growth-minded network is exactly how you build the confidence to step outside your comfort zone and reclaim your time freedom.

That collective strength and willingness to lift each other up is the exact secret sauce that transformed this broadcast into something much bigger than a show; it created our own unique watering hole.

NOT YOUR AVERAGE INSIGHT: The Community Made The Lesson Real

👉 The Community That Made 500 Episodes Possible

The truth is, this show didn’t become a staple because we had brilliant things to say for 500 episodes. It became valuable because you kept showing up, sharing your lives, and helping each other think more clearly.

Single-family rental real estate is a wonderfully steady, predictable asset class. But staying committed to a quiet, compounding engine over decades is tough to do by yourself.

You have turned this show into a safe, genuine watering hole in a massive internet universe, and Pablo and I are better people because of it.

And after 500 episodes, that may be the biggest lesson of all:

Long-term investing gets easier when you are surrounded by people who are learning, growing, and staying committed with you.

We are grateful for your trust in JWB.
